Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared pictures from the meeting on Saturday evening. Abhishek also shared pictures on Twitter and thanked the PM for his ‘appreciation’. “It was a pleasure to meet our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji. What makes it more special is his appreciation and noble words about #TheKashmirFiles. We’ve never been prouder to produce a film. Thank you Modi Ji @narendramodi @vivekagnihotri #ModiBlessedTKF,” Abhishek wrote in his tweet.

Vivek retweeted him and wrote, “I am so glad for you @AbhishekOfficl you have shown the courage to produce the most challenging truth of Bharat. #TheKashmirFiles screenings in USA proved the changing mood of the world in the leadership of @narendramodi.”

The Kashmir Files also stars Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumaar. The film is based on the exodus and killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley in the 1990s.

The Hindustan Times review of the film read: “You would cry, sob, feel scared watching the tragedy of lakhs of men and women who were made refugees overnight. Thankfully, it is not your typical Bollywood masala film based on true events and told with the colours of a rainbow. Agnihotri tells the horrible tale as it should have been told.”

The Kashmir Files earned 3.55 crores on its opening day on March 11. Film critic and movie business analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the figures on Twitter. He shared that the film has shown strength at the box office, despite limited showcasing (630 screens).

Meanwhile, the Haryana government has declared that ‘The Kashmir Files’ will be tax-free in the state. An official notification issued by the Excise and Taxation Department on Friday stated that the order will remain in force for six months from today.
