In an even bolder statement, Yogi Adityanath declared that the waters of the Sangam were not only fit for bathing but also safe to drink. The UP CM expressed his concerns over the deliberate attempt to defame the Maha Kumbh Mela by falsely claiming contamination in the sacred waters. He pointed out that Sangam water has been revered for centuries for its spiritual importance and its purity, which is maintained through various purification processes throughout the year.
Yogi emphasized that such malicious campaigns were disrespectful to the millions of Hindus who flock to the Kumbh to purify their souls in the holy waters. He highlighted the rigorous steps taken by the authorities, including the continuous monitoring of water quality and collaboration with health organizations, to ensure that the water is free from any harmful contaminants. In light of the allegations, the Chief Minister assured pilgrims that there was no cause for concern regarding waterborne diseases.
By rejecting the bacteria report as an unfounded attempt to harm the Maha Kumbh’s image, Yogi made it clear that the state government was fully invested in safeguarding the event’s integrity. His confidence in the water’s purity further solidified the administration’s commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all participants.
