Indian students currently stranded in Ukraine’s Sumy spoke exclusively to Hindustan Times and narrated a harrowing experience of the battle zone. The students describe the ongoing situation in Sumy where intense fighting is underway between Russians and Ukrainians. They tell Hindustan Times why they changed their mind of not walking up to the Russian border, which is 50 kms from where they are currently holed up, and expressed hope that the Modi government will come to their rescue.
