Kim Kardashian’s latest statement, in which she urged women to get their “a** up and work,” has been receiving a lot of backlash on the internet. Apart from the general public, Kim has also received replies from celebrities on her remark. Slamming Kim for her statement, actor Jameela Jamil said, “nobody needs to hear your thoughts.” (Also Read: Kim Kardashian reveals if Kanye West and Pete Davidson will feature on The Kardashians)

Kim and her family were seen on the popular reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The show ran for 20 seasons before ending last year. The Kardashian-Jenner clan will now be seen in a new reality show simply titled The Kardashians, which will stream on Hulu.

In a Variety profile published this week, Kim talked about her business empires, the criticism she has faced over the years and more. Giving out a piece of advice, she said, “I have the best advice for women and business. Get your f—ing a– up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.” Her elder sister Kourtney Kardashian agreed with her statement and said, “That’s so true.” “You have to surround yourself with people that want to work,” she added.

Slamming Kim’s statement, Jameela tweeted, “I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion… nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic. This same 24 hours in the day shit is a nightmare. 99.9% of the world grew up with a VERY different 24 hours.” Columnist Meghan McCain replied to Kim’s statement, in a Daily Mail column. She wrote, “My advice for Kim Kardashian: Think twice before you tell America’s Covid-weary women to work harder.”

One internet user tweeted, “Kim Kardashian yelling “get off your a— and work” to the Indonesian children putting together her makeup kits.” Another one called it “joke of the year,” and wrote, “Kim Kardashian telling women in business to get their a–es up and work the day after International Womens Day has to be the biggest joke of the year.”

A few fans of Kim also came forward to support her amid the controversy. One fan tweeted, “I think we need to cut Kim Kardashian a break here. She’s currently being harassed by her ex. I don’t think she meant anything negative by “work hard”. And yes, a lot has been handed to her. But you can’t deny she, too, has worked really hard.” Asking Kim not to apologise for the statement, another one said, “I hope you don’t apologise Kim; some people don’t want to work that’s a fact. You never said no-one wants to work.”

Earlier this month, Kim was declared ‘legally single’ after a year-long divorce battle with ex-husband Kanye West. Kim filed for divorce in February 2021, citing irreconcilable differences with Kanye.
