Sonalisa Mishra currently residing in Brisbane (Australia) was born and brought up in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, and from the very beginning she had a strong interest towards the performing arts, and at the nascent age of 3 she started learning Hindustani Classical Vocals with her elder sister. Sonalisa was taught by Classical vocal “Guru Gaurang Samanth” for almost 10 years and hence she developed a deep bond with music, especially singing, and has won several local singing competitions and has also actively performed on Stage shows all over India. To add another feather to her cap, Sonalisa is also a trained Odissi Dancer and was trained by “Guru Gangadhar Pradhan” right from the age of 3 years. At the nascent age Sonalisa has also tried her acting carrier doing ollywood serials and modeling shoots.
Since moving to Brisbane (Australia) 5 years ago, Sonalisa has performed at several Concerts in Australia and Papua New Guinea with many talented musicians. In December 2019, Sonalisa had also won the Australian Icon Title and competed at 3 International Indian Icon shows in the USA. Sonalisa has also recorded and posted several unplugged cover songs online.
Currently Sonalisa is all set to release a 5 song music album Titled “Pyaar Ho Gaya” with popular Bollywood Composers “Viraal and Arya”, and the entire Music Album is produced and designed by popular Bollywood Music Producer and Rapper “Arya Acharya”.
Sonalisa’s album “Pyaar Ho Gaya” has an eclectic mix of 5 different genres of music right from the Melancholic “Bin Tere” to the Peppy dance number “Pyaar Ho Gaya”to the Vibrant Rajasthani Folk ensemble titled “Kesariyo” and also the foot tapping bhangra “Nai Nachana”. The compositions are breathtaking and the lyrics to these songs work perfectly alongside them. After composing for some of the best vocalist from Bollywood namely star singers like Jubin Nautiyal, Abhijeet Sawant, Krishna Buera, Rashid Ali and many others, composers Viraal and Arya are extremely excited to lend their compositions and lyrics to singer Sonalisa Mishra. Sonalisa’s songs are now on all song portals like Hungama, Spotify, Resso, Wynk, JioSaavn, Amazon Prime Music, Apple Music and many more. She now has started her own Performing Arts Academy called Mokhya Academy in Australia to spread her knowledge and expertise. Sonalisa’s motivation for this was so that the future generations keep in touch with their culture and don’t lose their unique heritage even though they live far from home.
