Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday kicked off his visit to Jammu and Kahsmir, his first since Article 370 was scrapped by the centre in 2019. He recieved a warm welcome in Palli where he is set to address an event to mark the National Panchayati Raj Day.
“PM Modi has given a new industrial scheme in J&K. Since independence till now there was just ₹15,000 cr investment, now we’ve proposal of ₹52,000 cr while projects of ₹38,000 cr will be inaugurated by the PM. We expect investment to cross ₹70,000 crore,” Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, said.
The prime minister laid the foundation stones for the 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project and 540 MW Kwar Hydroelectric Project to be constructed on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district, news agency ANI reported.
