Mira Rajput could not stop thinking about Delhi as she “went to town” in Mumbai. Mira, who was born and brought up in the national capital before she moved to Mumbai following her wedding to Shahid Kapoor, said Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda reminded her a lot of Delhi’s Khan Market. While praising Kala Ghoda, Mira noted that Delhi will always be close to her heart. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Mira shared a picture of herself clicked in the Fort area at the Kala Ghoda, where the 18th-century structure could be seen in the background. Mira was wearing a white Balenciaga outfit for her outing, and had her hair loose. Alongside the picture, Mira wrote, “‘Went to town’ #DelhiGirlInMumbai.”

Mira added, “Kala Ghoda reminds me so much of Khan Market in Delhi; winding streets, quirky boutiques, some over-hyped eateries and parking attendants waiting to give you the receipt before you’ve even left.”

Kala Ghoda is a hip, creative area with designer cafes, indie galleries, and sidewalk art stalls. The annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is popular for its edgy installations, performances, and discussions. Meanwhile, Delhi’s Khan Market used to be a neighbourhood market but has now transformed into a high-end shopping and dining hub with international designer labels, upscale boutiques, jewelers, and bars and cafes filling its narrow lanes.

Mira added in her post that Kala Ghoda was a bit far from her home in Worli but worth the trip. She wrote, “It’s a trek for me, but going to town reminds me so much of Delhi,” adding a red heart. She continued, “for me it’s Dilli meri jaan (Delhi my heart).”

Instagram users dropped in heart emojis on Mira’s post. One wrote, “That’s absolutely true dilli is dilli u can’t get dilli out of ur dil.” Another wrote, “In India there is no place like South Delhi and I’m lucky to be living here!” A third one commented, “Every word in the caption just remind of one thing delhi.”
