The body of the deceased, Gurfan Shaikh, a resident of Taware Compound in Bhiwandi, was found by a passerby on Wednesday after they noticed a smell emanating from the heaps of debris in the area.

Bhiwandi: In a shocking incident in Thane’s Bhiwandi, a 24-year-old man allegedly killed an 18-year-old pedestrian merely because the teenager bumped into him while walking on the road. The incident took place near Markaj Hotel on Monday, wherein the accused assaulted the teenager with a stone. The police arrested the accused on Wednesday.

The body of the deceased, Gurfan Shaikh, a resident of Taware Compound in Bhiwandi, was found by a passerby on Wednesday after they noticed foul smell emanating from the heaps of debris in the area.

Shaikh’s mother, who had reported him missing, was informed and later a case was filed against an unknown person after the police found the body.

An officer from the Bhoiwada police station, said, “We conducted an inquiry with his friends and relatives and found no one had any grudge against him. Our officers during inquiry found out that one of the two homeless persons who slept on the street was missing. We then started looking for him and nabbed the accused Siraj Ansari, 24.”

Ansari did odd jobs and confessed to the crime of being questioned.

“Ansari claimed to be in a foul mood on Monday and when Shaikh accidentally bumped onto him, he lost control over his anger and first assaulted him and then smashed his head with a stone along the road. He later dumped his body beneath the debris on the same spot and fled.”

The police have booked Ansari for murder.
