India on Sunday registered 3,116 fresh coronavirus cases in the lowest daily rise in 676 days (since May 2020). The active caseload currently stands at 38,069 with the active cases constituting 0.09 per cent of the tofal cases (4,29,90,991), the health ministry said in its daily bulletin. to 5,15,850.

The country saw 47 deaths in the last 24 hours, the latest data shows. The drop in daily cases comes weeks after the country was hit by a third wave, driven by the Omicron variant.

While the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 0.50 per cent, the daily positivity rate stands at .41 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 5,559 recoveries were recorded, taking the overall recoveries to 4,24,37,072. India has given over 180.13 crore doses of vaccine against Covid so far.
