Govt rebuts Lancet report on high Covid deaths in India, calls it ‘misinformed’

The Lancet reported that although excess mortality rates due to Covid among Indian states are not the highest in the world, the country accounted for around 22.3 per cent of global excess deaths as of December 31, 2021.

2.56L crore Andhra budget focusses on welfare schemes

Supreme Court names AK Sikri as chairman of Char Dham panel

The Supreme Court on Friday accepted the resignation of Professor Ravi Chopra as chairperson of a panel formed to oversee widening of roads under the Centre’s 12,000 crore ambitious Char Dham project, and appointed its former judge A K Sikri as the new chairman.



In July 2020, the Centre approved the zonal master plan for the zone and made provisions for execution of the Char Dham project through the eco-sensitive zone.
