Safety, evacuation of all citizens is govt’s top priority, says India

Crime rate rises on low base effect of pandemic

Delhi Police commissioner Rakesh Asthana said the increase in the number of heinous crimes can be attributed to the fair and prompt registration of cases by the city police, as well as the low base thanks to the complete shutdown during 2020 on account of Covid-19, which led to an overall decrease in the number of crimes reported that year.

Kerala HC reserves judgement on Dileep’s plea against further probe

The high court reserved its judgement after hearing arguments on behalf of the actor, the victim and the prosecution during this week, except on Wednesday.



Malyalam actor Dileep, represented by senior advocate B Raman Pillai and advocates Philip T Varghese and Thomas T Varghese, has contended that the further investigation was a “sham” and an attempt to further delay the trial of the case. (PTI)
