The Supreme Court has upheld the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise conducted by the Election Commission, terming it a positive step toward ensuring clean and credible elections. The judgment has reignited discussions on voter verification, electoral reforms, and democratic accountability across the country.
The apex court observed that maintaining accurate voter lists is essential for conducting free and fair elections. The bench stated that democracy can function effectively only when electoral processes are transparent and protected from manipulation.
