Covid-19 cases in India: The active cases have declined to 36,168, the lowest in 675 days. They constitute 0.09% of the total cases in the country so far.

India on Monday continued to see a drop in daily surge in Covid cases with 2,503 new infections, the lowest single-day rise in 680 days. The fresh surge takes the overall caseload to 4,29,93,494.
Twenty-seven patients died and 4,377 recovered from in the last 24 hours, the latest government data shows. With this, the overall death count and recoveries have climbed to 5,15,877 and 4,24,41,449 respectively.
The active cases have declined to 36,168, the lowest in 675 days. They constitute 0.09% of the total cases in the country so far.
On Sunday, the country registered 3,116 infections along with 47 deaths and 5,559 recoveries.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 5,32,232 samples were tested for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and the total testing figure is nearing 78 crore.
Meanwhile, India’s vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.13 crore with 20,31,275 doses administered to eligible beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday.
