BTS member Jin has spoken about his song Super Tuna and how he wanted only ARMY to know about it. In a new interview, Jin said that he sang a part of the song ’50 times’. Jin also revealed what prompted him to make a song on fishing. Jin’s song Super Tuna was released last year in December on his birthday. Jin, on December 5, held a V Live session on his birthday after which the song was released. In the video, apart from Jin, two other production team members danced on a beach. As translated by BTS fan account, @btstranslation7, a part of the lyrics goes, “Thump, thump, my heart beats fast/Where has my fish gone?/Donghae Sea (=East Sea)/Seohae Sea (=West Sea)/Where must my fish be?”

In an interview with Weverse magazine, Jin said he had asked fans not to take up Super Tuna challenges. “Honestly, I felt a little awkward. It’s really rough compared to the kind of high-quality music I’m used to putting out with BTS, so I wanted ARMY to be the only ones who knew about it. It seemed to me that ARMY thought, I can’t keep this weird thing to myself, and they were having fun spreading it around. So I gave up. (laughs) I saw ARMY say, ‘We have permission to dance.’ So I said, ‘Yeah, you’re right—you do,’ and came to accept it.”

Jin added that he wanted ARMY to listen to the song and ‘have fun laughing as they watched me, and in the end, I’m just happy they like it’. He added that he had fun watching ARMY enjoy the song and knowing that they like it. Jin said that ‘that was enough for me’. He also said that ‘there’s nothing grandiose about it’, adding that if he thinks the fans will like it, ‘I just do it’.

The BTS member, while featuring on the show, In the SOOP, had wanted to make a fishing song. For Super Tuna, he was accompanied by his producer-turned-fishing-buddy BUMZU. As per the report, the final melody was composed in just five minutes.

Jin said, “I did actually want to make a fishing song, but it was really an excuse to go fishing with BUMZU. We went after I suggested to the label that the two of us fishing would make for good content. When I sang the ‘palttak palttak’ part, for example I would’ve sung a short ‘palttak’ if I were singing for BTS, but in Super Tuna I sang it like, ‘pa-alttak,’ to highlight that rustic feel. I must’ve sung that part at least 50 times.”

Meanwhile, BTS recently concluded their Permission To Dance on Stage concert in Seoul. The shows were held over three days at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium. They are scheduled to perform a concert next month in Las Vegas. They will also perform at the 2022 Grammy Awards. They are nominated in the best pop duo/group performance category for Butter at the Grammys.
