A host of Bollywood and television celebrities were spotted on the red carpet of the Indian Television Academy awards on Sunday. While Rakhi Sawant stole the spotlight with her antics in front of the camera, Ranveer Singh joined her on the red carpet to have some fun. Alia Bhatt attended the event and greeted the paparazzi with her Gangubai Kathiawadi-style namaste. Among others were Karan Johar, Nia Sharma, Ravi Dubey, Shatrughan Singha and Dilip Joshi. Alia Bhatt arrived for the event in a silver saree and also had a little chat with Rakhi on the red carpet. Rakhi also greeted Ranveer and the two showed some dance moves as the paparazzi cheered for them. Rakhi was decked up in a black costume and a huge rose-shaped bonnet, and told Ranveer that she had dressed as a “ped (tree)” for the event.

Karan Johar attended the event in a black floral suit. Vaani Kapoor was also in a black and pink saree at the awards. Shatrughan Sinha with wife Poonam, Dino Morea, filmmaker Kabir Khan with actor wife Mini Mathur, comedian Jamie Lever, actor Aditya Seal were also spotted.

Nia Sharma was seen on the red carpet in a white fishnet gown with a train. Her Jamai Raja co-star Ravi Dubey was seen in a black suit. Bigg Boss fame Rashami Desai and Kashmera Shah walked the red carpet in a purple and pink gowns, respectively.

The starcast of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah also made an appearance at the event. Dilip Joshi, who plays the role of Jethalal arrived in a maroon suit. He met co-star Munmun Dutta, known for playing Babita, on the red carpet. Shailesh Lodha who plays Taarak Mehta, was also seen. The new Anjali on the show–actor Sunayana Fozdar walked the red carpet in a shimmery red gown. 

Hina Khan attended the event in an off-shoulder black gown and dramatic eye makeup. She won the Best Actress award for her film Lines. Harshad Chopda won the Best Actor award for his show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Anupamaa actor Rupali Ganguly was seen with her family and took home a trophy as well.
